What is Animal Essentials Tranquility Blend? As the name implies, Tranquility Blend, is a mixture of herbs used to safely calm animals without affecting their alertness. The ingredients include certified organic valerian root, skullcap herb, oat flowering tops, and ethically wildcrafted passion flower.

• Valerian Root is the most widely used calming herb. It calms the nervous system and helps animals achieve a state of relaxation without altering their state or making them appear unresponsive. Valerian may help to reduce the frequency and severity of seizures in epileptic animals. It also calms the digestive tract in anxious situations.
• Skullcap is from the mint family and is mostly used for cases of nervous tension and anxiety. It keeps animals alert and calm, avoiding drowsiness or dull reflexes.
• Oat flowering tops contains a good amount of protein as well as vitamins and minerals. It helps the nervous system function and stabilizes between the highs and lows of nervousness.
• Wildcrafted passion flower is a mild hypnotic used to help calm animals.

When should Animal Essentials Tranquility Blend be used? Pets, like humans, are at times exposed to stressful situations throughout their life. Some pets are better then others at handling these situations. Thunderstorms, trips to the vet or groomers, car rides, separation anxiety, fire works, and meeting new dogs are just a few examples of some of these situations.
